What's Included

End-of-Season Service, Start to Finish

Our fall service covers every system on your boat. Certified on Mercury, Mercruiser, Volvo, Yamaha, and Ilmor engines, our team knows exactly what your boat needs to come through winter without a scratch.

Hoist & Dock Pickup

We come to you. Our team picks up your boat or personal watercraft directly from your hoist, loads it out, and transports it to our facility — no trailer hauling required on your end.

Winterization

Antifreeze is ran through the system. Proper winterization protects against freezing and component degradation over the winter months.

Cooling System Flush

All raw water is flushed from the cooling system and replaced with antifreeze where required. This is one of the most critical steps in preventing cracked blocks and heat exchanger damage over a hard Iowa winter.

Fuel System Stabilization

Fuel stabilizer is added to prevent fuel degradation, varnish buildup, and carburetor or injector clogging. The engine is run to ensure treated fuel circulates through the entire system before storage.

Battery Service & Storage

Batteries are inspected, charged, and stored unplugged in the boat. Proper battery care over winter means no surprises when you're ready to launch in the spring.

Cover Installation & Storage Transition

Your boat is covered and moved into our 900+ spot indoor storage facility. Concrete flooring, pest and rodent control, and a dedicated cleaning team mean it comes out next spring exactly how it went in.

Hoist Pickup Service

We Come to You

You don't need to haul anything. We pick up your boat or PWC directly from the hoist and handle transport to our facility. Pricing is straightforward.

General information

Storage disclaimer

  • Boat length is rounded up to the next foot, so a boat measuring 20 feet 4 inches is rounded up to 21 feet. We do not count the outdrive in the length, however we do count the swim platform, slides, and similar features that extend off the stern or bow. Add 2 feet to the overall length for boats with trailers.
  • Add $250.00 to the above storage fees for boats over 8 and a half feet wide. Maximum width is 10 feet.
  • Add $350.00 to the above storage fees for double decker pontoons or similar height boats such as cabin cruisers.
  • Add $75 for general cleaning of boats with towers and $150 for complete details of boats with towers.
  • A separate storage charge of one third the winter storage rate applies for the months of June, July, and August if your unit remains in storage over the summer months.
  • Please give us a minimum of 5 days notice in the spring when you want your boat out of storage. Getting your boat out of storage often requires moving numerous other boats to get yours out.
  • Storage space is reserved based on the date a signed reservation and agreement form is received. We will be unable to guarantee a storage space if it is not submitted.

We store all trailers inside. Boat trailers are $200 each and PWC trailers are $100 each.

Boat pickup and drop off

Note to customer

Marine engine manufacturers and technicians advise storing any boat with the fuel tank full. Clear Lake Boats will fill all fuel tanks during your fall service appointment unless advised by the boat owner.

  • $75 for the first unit on the big lake, $95 for the first unit on Little Lake in Ventura
  • $40 for each additional unit on the same trip
  • Any PWC pickups after October 1 are $75 per unit

Please leave keys in the boat. The fee for no keys or lanyard is $25 plus a one time fuel surcharge.

Disclaimers and exclusive remedy

The undersigned storage party acknowledges that they are aware this is an unconditioned, non-heated or air-conditioned, facility and that they are responsible for any items that are stored that could be damaged by freezing conditions or excessive heat. The undersigned storage party is responsible for seeing that their boat has been properly serviced and winterized before storage. The undersigned storage party agrees that if stored property, which said party has insured, shall be damaged or destroyed during the storage period or extension thereon, Clear Lake Boats shall not be liable to the storage party or to any insurer of the storage party for, or in respect of, such damage or destruction to the extent covered by such insurance. The waiver of subrogation set forth shall extend to all risks, including those insured by the insurance policy of the storage party. The foregoing language notwithstanding, in the event the subject property is damaged by the negligent act of Clear Lake Boats, Clear Lake Boats shall be liable to the storage party for the deductible or retainage amount applicable to the insurance policy of the storage party. Any warranties on the parts or accessories sold shall be those provided by the manufacturer. All warranties of the manufacturer are exclusive and in lieu of all other express and implied warranties. Clear Lake Boats makes no other warranty, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of seaworthiness, worker-like performance, and merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose. Clear Lake Boats shall not be liable in contract or law for any personal injury, death, or loss or damage to any other real or personal property, nor for any economic loss, consequential or incidental damages, whatsoever.
